Due to the Governor's Stay at Home Order, the district operations will be changing and additional information will follow through the district APP and Website. Teachers and Building Administrators will have detailed directives about the way the education of your child will continue from the Order from the Governor.
One of the few activities that will continue to work out of the school district will be food services and other related services essential to the production and delivery of meals for our children.
On Monday, March 23rd, Columbiana Schools will deliver breakfast and lunch for all students K-12 at no cost. Columbiana Schools is planning to provide this valuable service each Monday. However, it is imperative that we collect weekly information about the students who wish to receive lunches. We will provide meals for breakfast and lunch for all 5 days on each Monday (ONLY). In order to collect information regarding delivery, we have created a survey that will need to be completed weekly.
We are asking all families to complete the survey (link below), by Thursday of each week for meals to be prepared for your Monday distribution. We plan to utilize our school transportation's regular bus routes to deliver the meals to your child’s bus stop. Walkers to the high school campus and open enrollment students will still need to complete the survey, but will pick up lunches at Columbiana High School unless otherwise directed.
Joshua Dixon Elementary and South Side Middle Schools will be closed to any non-essential traffic. Columbiana High School will be the only building open for both lunches (Monday) and school assignments (Thursday).
We will ask students/parents to submit any completed assignment electronically when at all possible. Those assignments completed that can be captured by sending a picture or scanned pdf of the file is preferred. We would like to minimize the transfer of paper products between people during this Stay at Home Order. All teaching staff have email accounts where assignments may be submitted when not completed through google classroom or submitted as per the classroom teacher's request. Other assignments may turned in through bins with school and teacher names at Columbiana High School from 7:30am - 2:00pm. Other arrangements my be coordinated through your building principal or teacher.
Thank you for your patience as we react to the changes that take place in our country, state, and school community. Our staff misses your children and are looking forward to their return. We want you all to be safe and secure as we work through the current health crisis and the ever-changing landscape of our daily lives. Please contact the superintendent, Donald Mook or your building principal if you have any special needs that we may be able to assist you with in the coming days and/or weeks. We all hope to return to normalcy as soon as possible.
