Columbiana Exempted Village School District

The January Board of Education meeting featured an opportunity to hear from South Side Middle School students about the journalism class offered my Mrs. Beech.  "The CMS Press" is created, edited and produced by the seventh grade students taking a new journalism course.   The middle school students pictured with Principal Martin and Mrs. Beech shared the new skill set from taking journalism.  Students indicated they learned how to interview, report, write, and organized the information digitally to share with their classmates.  With reading and writing as a fundamental component, students explored varies ways to collect information and report it in the way of a school newspaper, The CMS Press.  Who knows... but one of these students could be bringing you the news one day!  Great Job presenting you new skill set to the Columbiana Board of Education!!
