Mrs. Silver comes to work every day, eager to find new ways of reaching students. Whether it be implementing best practices in teaching middle school ELA, her high school AP course or finding new ways to connect material to student interests. She is constantly reflecting on her professional practice, analyzing data, and tailoring instruction to meet the individual needs of her students.
Mrs. Silver can be found collaborating with teachers on cross-curricular and cross-grade level activities, supports community outreach projects, directs the most amazing middle school theatrical performances, and supports various initiatives in order to advance building and district objectives. The most recent example being her work as a teacher leader with regards to our Striving Readers Grant and her work on the CMS building leadership team.
In the classroom, Mrs. Silver follows best practices in order to actively engage students and brings the content standards to life. Meg also creates best practices and strategies that work for her students. Her latest invention, being that of an ABC prompt (where students report on: What are you Amazed by? What are you Bothered by? And What Confuses you?). This prompt has been included in her most recent book club unit.
Mrs. Silver is full of ideas and willing to put the time and effort into the creation of those ideas. No one could dispute the fact that Meg’s enthusiasm for her students, her love of reading, and her passion for education in general is obvious and contagious.
Mrs. Silver is a tremendous asset to our district and we are grateful for her service to our learning community.
