Letter to Families

A NOTE FROM MRS. SHARSHAN
As the principal of Joshua Dixon Elementary, I could not be prouder of our students, families, and staff. Having school close for an undetermined amount of time has affected everyone. While maintaining educational standards and academic integrity, we will continue working diligently to ensure a smooth transition through remote learning. I would be remiss in not sending a shout out to our new parent teachers, for working harder than ever to instruct your children and teach them the importance of maintaining high standards for school and themselves.  All of your hard work will help prepare this generation of students to meet life’s curve balls head-on, making certain they put their best foot forward no matter the circumstances. The unknown has all of us a bit out of sorts, nevertheless, everyone is stepping up and making every day count! Again, thank you for taking time with your children. If it’s like at school, they will teach you as much as you teach them. Interims will be coming home for those students who have not turned in any work and/or teachers or school personnel has not been able to communicate with the family. As we all continue to protect our personal selves, please know that our dedicated staff including myself, are accessible via phone, email, or an on-line format of your choice. Thank you to all parents/guardians who are working essential jobs, especially in the medical field. We are grateful for all that you do. I miss everyone and hope to see you all very soon.
